March 1, 2012, 8:32 AM Speeding through school zone. RI Route 117 east. Almost hit vehicle cautiously leaving child drop off area. Parent COULD NOT see car coming around bend in road because it was so fast. Speeding car blew horn at Parent as it stopped. I saw speeder rapidly approaching through my driver side and rear view mirrors, while dropping off my child. I saw plate, but wasn't sure. It took me 25 minutes to confirm full plate and vehicle description as I kept the vehicle in my view. Driver appeared to be an adult male (?), 50’s (?), who smokes cigars. Passenger appeared to be a female, light hair (Blonde?), taller than driver. Driver description was through his rear window. I did not tail this vehicle, but he happened to be on same route. During his course, he weaved into opposite lane several times as if to pass vehicles in front of him. He turned into Joyal's Liquors as I proceeded straight to my destination. Upon leaving my destination at 9:05 AM, there he was directly in front of me again heading back on rt. 117 west. I have seen a few speeders come through this school zone in the past, once almost hitting the crossing guard. I am trying to be more observant. Had I been sure of the plate, I would have called Coventry PD directly.
