Narragansett Police Log: January 9 and 10, 2012 - Narragansett, RI ...

Unless otherwise noted, information about the following arrests was supplied by the Narragansett Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Narragansett Man Charged with Domestic Disorderly

Christopher R. Mancini, 36, of 9 Brown St., Apt. #B, Narragansett, was arrested at about 6:45 a.m. on Jan. 10 and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone.

According to police, Mancini and the victim reported to police headquarters to lodge a complaint about an argument they had with one another. (Brown Street is directly across from the police station.)

Based on an interview with Mancini, police said he and the victim got into an argument, and during that argument, she asked him to leave the apartment repeatedly. At various times, both threatened to call the police. When the alleged victim tried to call though, Mancini told police he took the phone and broke it in a moment of anger.

According to police, this account matched what was told to them by the victim. As a result, Mancini was arrested and charged with domestic disorderly conduct and domestic refusal to relinquish a telephone.

South Kingstown Man Arrested for Suspended License

Nicholus M. Robinson, 26, of 88 Dam St., South Kingstown, was arrested at about 2:20 p.m. on Jan. 9 and charged with driving with a suspended license.

According to police, an officer traveling on Point Judith Road saw a black Jeep Cherokee without a front license plate. A traffic stop was made on Angell Road. Police said the registration on the rear plate came back to a 2005 tan Toyota.

Police said a background check on the driver, Robinson, revealed that his license had been suspended. However, he and a passenger in the car did possess the proper registration information for the vehicle, and were in the process of transferring the plate.

The passenger, a 18-year-old South Kingstown woman, provided police with an active license, and she was allowed to drive the Jeep from the scene. Robinson was arrested and transported to police headquarters.

After being processed at the station, Robinson was released at 3 p.m. He was issued a Jan. 17 date for Fourth Division District Court.
