Batman pulled over for Batmobile not having proper plates

Even with his genius-level intellect, the Dark Knight can make simple mistakes – like not properly attaching licenses to his Batmobile.

A man dressed as Batman was pulled over in Montgomery County, Maryland for not having the proper plates on his black Lamborghini. The police say he was on his way to a local children's hospital and couldn't get his plates to screw in on the luxury sports car.

A man dressed in full Batman regalia was pulled over earlier this week after police saw he had no tags on his black Lamborghini.

The man, identified as Lenny B. Robinson, was heading to a local children’s hospital, according to Montgomery County Captain Paul Starks.

According to Capt. Starks, a man dressed as the comic book hero was pulled over on Interstate 29 in Montgomery, Maryland, outside of Washington, DC.

He told MailOnline: ‘An officer on routine patrol saw a Lamborghini with the rear plate – it was the Batman symbol for the show. He pulled him over and said, “what’s going on?”’

However, Mr. Robinson had both front and back plates with him.

‘The car was registered, and the man explained that he goes to hospitals and does work with kids (while in costume),’ Capt. Stark explained.

But it would appear he was short for a changing room – the Lamborghini is usually the vehicle of choice for Batman’s alter-ego, Bruce Wayne.

Capt. Stark said that Mr Robinson was not charged. ‘They had a discussion about the law, and he let him fly so to speak,’ he said.

‘The police officer and Batman had a discussion, and he said next time, get it right,’ Capt. Stark said.

The precinct released pictures of the unusual event on both their Facebook and Twitter pages.

As for the reason why he didn’t have plates in? Capt. Stark speculated that Mr Robinson didn’t want to ‘ruin the effect’ of being Batman – thus going completely method.

A tipster told Jalopnik that the plate’s screws simply would not fit with the luxury car.

The Montgomery police tweeted that the ‘batmobile was not towed.’

Mr Robinson, it seems, loves showing up in public dressed as the Dark Knight.

From the look of his Facebook page, the business owner often makes appearances, and especially loves brightening young children’s days.

This isn’t the first issue the erstwhile Batman has faced. Last Halloween, his car got a flat tire as he was again driving to a Washington-area hospital to visit sick children.

He posed with Howard County Police Department’s Brandon Stickles, one of the officers who responded to the call.

Mr Robinson still managed to get to the hospital, thanks to a ride from a friend.

Rear license plate mount missing?

Hi, this is my first post but I've dropped in to spy on this place a few times since picking up my little orange baby in July. I could go on for days about how much I love driving it...

Ahem, I'll move along. Someone stole my rear license plate yesterday while I was at the store. Yay! 24 hours and $16 later, I'm free to drive again with new plates. I went to put the new ones on and I think there is a piece missing. There are no threads to put a screw into. Holes, yes. But there is nothing for the screws to bite into. I'm thinking that the thief also took a piece of my SOUL.

I "fixed" it with wire. Super classy, I know.

I was wondering if anyone knew what the plates are supposed to mount into. I'm going to had to the dealership thursday but I like to know what I'm getting into ahead of time.

Thanks!

So apparently Batman (not this little turd) got pulled over in Silver Spring, Maryland (more of my old stomping grounds!) this week for not having a license plate on the back of his surrogate Lamborghini Batmobile, only a novelty Bat Emblem plate. Rich people, man — they get their kicks in the strangest ways.

After verifying that the man owned the vehicle police let him off with just a warning so that he could go do good in the community. As it turns out, the super hero was on his way to visit sick children in a local hospital.

Ha, of COURSE he was on his way to visit sick kids at the hospital, he’s a do-gooder. Man, I wish I was rich enough to drive my Lamborghini to visit sick kids in the hospital. Or anywhere really. I’d visit them on the f***ing moon if I got to drive a Lamborghini.

Hit the jump for a couple more shots including one of Batman flexing in front of his car.
