FS - Conealable Body Armor - External Tactical Armor Carrier - Hard ...

First Choice Armor (FCA) - Personal Body Armor

  • Ballistic Performance Level IIIA per NIJ 2005 Interim Requirements
  • Date of Manufacture: 10/2009
Ballistic Panel Dimensions

Front: 13.25” from bottom of neck scoop to bottom of panel; 17.25” from top of shoulder wing to bottom of panel (extended coverage); 20.25” wide at wings; wing height tapers down to 7” at outer edges.

Rear: 15.25” from top to bottom; 20” wide at wings; wing height tapers down to 7” high at outer edges.

This body armor being sold as lightly used, although it is about as close to new as you can get. I bought this armor in October 2010 from a public safety supply that had special ordered it from FCA in 2009 for a police officer that did not complete the transaction. For reference, Diamondback Tactical acquired FCA in 2010.

This is a concealable “Thin Blue Line” six-point-adjustable carrier with an integral trauma pad pocket. The trauma pad is not shown in the photos, however it is included with this vest. The Carrier’s ballistic panel pockets have micro-zippers for easy access to the ballistic pads.

The 40.25” girth dimension (fullest part of the abdomen) of this armor is too large for me to personally wear it without a side over-wrap of the front & back panels. For that reason, I never deployed the TBL concealable carrier. This armor is essentially new. The carrier was stored in a zip-loc bag since the time I acquired this vest. The ballistic panels were flat stored in my back-up Eagle external carrier, inside an armor storage bag, & were never deployed.

The ballistic panels were always flat stored in a smoke-free, temperature-controlled environment. The ballistic panels were never used in the field & this vest has never left my home since I received it. The carrier was folded and stored in a storage bag.

The carrier is of very high quality & is very well made, so if you’re a “large – regular”, you’ll find this one to be very comfortable. I have more sets of armor than I need and as this set is too large for my concealed use, this set is for sale. The W-T member in good standing price for the carrier, trauma pad, & ballistic panels is $275.00, shipping included, in CONUS. If you know what quality armor costs new, even at LEO pricing, then you already know this is a good deal.

Second Chance - Tactical Armor Carrier – External Assault Shell - Large

This is a size Large - Long external tactical carrier. The front panel loads through a central zipper. There is a 5 x 8 trauma plate pocket inside of the front panel.

The rear panel has two separate cuff pockets. The front panel has a badge holder, a dual-flap large utility pocket, a flap-covered magazine pocket, an elastic-top radio pocket, a small open-top pocket, and two other elastic-topped smaller utility pockets for flashlights or spray. There is a microphone holder attachment strap on top left shoulder.

The ballistic panel retention system is adjustable. The retention system of this vest will accommodate practically any brand or cut of armor that will fit in the panel pockets. Ballistic panel pocket dimensions:

Front: 15.5” + high from the bottom of the neck scoop to the bottom of the carrier; 25” + across the bottom of the side coverage wings; side wing height tapers down to 7” + high at the outer edges.

Rear: 18” high from top to bottom; 25” + across the bottom of the side coverage wings; side wing height tapers down to 7” + high at the outer edges.

The rear panel has an inside cummerbund chest retention strap. The outer panels (front & rear) have Velcro strips to display ID placards (front velcro is under a flap). No ballistic panels or ID are included. This sale is of the external carrier only, as described above.

Second Chance did a great job on manufacturing this carrier. It was lightly used & is in great shape. There are no rips, tears, stains, odors, or defects. The elastic is good, & the Velcro holds tight. I bought this hoping that it would fit; I would keep it, however it is just too big for me. The W-T member in good standing price for this external tactical carrier is $67.50, shipping included, in CONUS.

The carrier is black. The external photos came out a bit washed out due to the lighting conditions, however the inside photo is true to actual color:

Second Chance K-30 Trauma Plate – 7 x 11

Level IIIA+ perfomance, in conjunction with soft ballistic armor; this is a Kevlar-covered steel trauma plate, with chest bend, & extended “long” coverage hard plate. This trauma plate is in great shape. There are no rips or tears in the Kevlar cover. I acquired this plate used, & never deployed it. This K-30 plate is rated for 12GA Slug, 30 Carbine ball, 44 MAG Carbine, & 9mm AP. This would also make an awesome hard “ballistic backstop” for administrative loading/unloading operations. A nice benefit of this plate is that it provides serious ballistic steel protection with the projectile-grabbing advantage of the Kevlar cover. The W-T member in good standing price for the trauma plate is $29.75, shipping included, in CONUS.
