ASUS TF300T May Be Follow-Up Tablet to Original Eee Pad ...

Photos of what looks to be a new, 10-inch ASUS tablet were leaked on a Chinese website. The photos show a pretty sleek tablet with the model number TF300T.

It seems similar to the Transformer Prime, but the rear plate looks like it’s made of plastic, so it’ll likely have better Wi-Fi and GPS reception compared to the Prime with its aluminum chassis. The Transformer Prime was also just refreshed to have a higher-resolution, 1920 x 1200 screen (model name TF700), so this could be an update to the Eee Pad Transformer, perhaps a lower-end offering to round out ASUS’s portfolio? Currently the only other tablets in their line up are the Transformer Prime and the upcoming Padfone. A refresh of the Eee Pad Transformer would be a nice affordable option for users who don’t want to shell out for the Prime or Padfone.

It seems that these photos were part of some kind of (wireless?) certification process, given the documentation below, but it’s unclear just what certification the TF300T underwent.

We’ll report more as details become available.
